Naming the Antichrist

One thing that I have found interesting is why do Christians try to name the Antichrist. We know he is going to be a real person. There will be a time in the history of the world, that he will appear on the world stage to do the things that have been recorded about him. We also know it is quit possible that he is already alive. But what I don’t understand is the fascination about trying to pin that name on any person that is alive today.

Arn’t we as Christians supposed to be trying to win the lost to Jesus? Revelation 19:20 says the antichrist will be cast into the lake of fire forever. So we know his fate.

Rev.19 And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army. 20 And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence[e] had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.

Now if by chance, you met a person you believe to be the antichrist, would you witness to them? Thats what your called to do! No one knows who he is. Sure, there are a lot of candidates out there that have the “spirit of antichrist” around them, but that doesn’t mean they are “the antichrist”. History is replete with people that have had a “spirit of antichrist”around them and they were not “the antichrist”.

It is our job, as Christians to witness to everyone and not be concerned about who he is, only God knows and he will be revealed in his time on the world stage. Right now it is our calling to speak to everyone about Jesus. Please stop trying to place that name on anyone, because when you do, you are in effect saying they are damned for eternity. Thats not our calling.

Tell everyone the truth about heaven and hell, that is what we are called to do. If we love God, then we should be trying to get as many people saved as we can for the “Time” is short.
