Instant Satisfaction

Drive through, microwave ovens, remote controls, faster internet speeds… “I want it now”. Thats the kind of world we live in. We want everything “INSTANTLY”. But some things take time.

The Cristian life is a long walk on this earth, it takes time to walk it and God has given us a book called the Bible to help us through each day. We have to try and do our best at following what it says. He never told us it would be easy, but He did promise that He would be there with us because the Holy Spirit is in us and guides us.

We still have to wrestle with our human nature (Romans chapter 7), because like most people we want our satisfaction now. We want an instant solution to do what the Bible tells us is the right response in our lives. As for the Christian life that we are called to try and master, that takes an entire lifetime and it still isn’t completed when we draw our last breath. We may struggle with something that we want, even when God has closed the door on that. But Gods grace sees us through it all and welcomes us home to Himself.

Loving everyone is not an easy thing to do, but that is what God wants from us. Because He loves all the people in the world.(John 3:16) The fruit of the Spirit takes a long time to put into practice, but is something we must allow God to work in us.

When we get saved, we don’t instantly become perfect, it must be worked out in us by our agreement with what the Bible says and doing it. This is not working your way to salvation, it’s Gods grace at work in you. Galatians 6:9 tells us to not give up and we will get the reward of reaping what we have sown. (V.7)

Galatians 6 (ESV) (Please read the whole chapter)

6. Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches. 7. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. 8. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. 10. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

We must be patient and we shall receive all that God has promised. That is a difficult thing to do in our “I want it now” world. BUT GOD! He will preform it if we continue following Him.

But you must be saved to receive His rewards, so I ask, are you saved? Please ask Jesus to be your savior and He will, that is why He come to earth and died. He took your place on the cross so you can have life with Him in eternity. Ask Him today, He won’t say no to you. Yes even you! If you want to be saved, you can be, because the Holy Spirit is speaking to you.
